Sup Oppo? Been a long time since I posted something on here but I’ve been lurking in the dark for quite some time now I thought now might be a good time to step back into the light.

Anyways lets get into the business at hand; I have currently had a 2002 Mercedes C240 6-speed wagon as my DD for the past 2 years. Nothing majorly wrong with it except from being slowly eaten by the Mercedes rust monster but I just feel like it’s time for a new car.

Don’t have too many criterias except for that I would prefer a RWD wagon of some sorts. Other than that I’m open to suggestions.

As you can see above I’ve been looking at 2005-ish Dodge Magnums. Anyone know if these are dependable and somewhat easy to maintain? I’ve been looking at both the V6 verision and the one with the HEMI.

The 2.7 V6 is a nightmare and should be avoided, but it only came on super base models. There’s the typical PlaySkool plastic Mopar interior and I’ve heard the front suspension is Mercedes sourced and can be troublesome and very part brand-specific.

Ha!, ok good too know. Interior quality is not really something that concerns me too much so I’m okay with that.

I replaced the front springs on my Merc once. It was not fun in anyway as a regular spring compressor didn’t fit (until I made some modifications to it) but it was definitely doable.

Aahh!, forgot to specify budget. Somewhere in the 6k-7k$ at the most. Cheapest SRT in Sweden I can find is 19k$... http://www.blocket.se/jonkoping/Dodg…

You’re in Sweden and running a confederate flag as your avatar?

I’m confused...

BOOM! breaking the stereotypes since 2013!

Yes but honestly though the flag probably has a bit of a different meaning over here in Sweden than what i currently has in the states considering everything that has happened recently.

I’ll try to find a new avatar shortly so I don’t offend anyone.

Well, not just currently, it’s been the flag of those fighting for slavery over hundred years ago. It’s not about not offending anyone - for all I care, offend away! - but signs and symbols have power and meaning, so just be aware of what they stand for/what the people flying those symbols stand for.

In this case it’s thinly veiled racism. Not heritage.

Yeah I know fully well of what it stands for for some people in the states and in hindsight I admit that it has been a careless choice of avatar.

If you’re interested, since the 50's here in Sweden the flag has been a bit of a symbol for the “raggare” culture. Basically rebel against the government and go out pick up girls in cool cars. Nothing racist or anything like that. Jalopnik even posted an article about it a while back: http://jalopnik.com/your-guide-to-…

If you don’t mind AWD, can you please buy this so I don’t?

Sure I don’t mind it from a drivers perpective but from my experience working on cars Awds in this price segment usually means that they’re about to brake and that usually isn’t cheap.

Besides the car is a bit too far away from me so I guess I’m just going to have to let you buy it... muhaha!

In all fairness, it’s an eleven year old Jaguar, so it’s about to break no matter what.

Still, BRG wagon (even if it’s an X-Type).

Yeah you’re probably right. But still, as you say it would be a pretty cool car to have and it’s at a fraction of its original cost.

Stop trying to convince me to buy this! I already DD and XJ8, so I obviously possess neither common sense nor impulse control.
